2. You get to memorize the house as it is in the dark. This is good in case of emergency or just fun to be able to do. This is especially funny when you watch your husband get up and stumble around because he isn't quite as practiced as you are.
3. You get a great excuse for a big ole cup of coffee in the morning. I like to bring out the good stuff. Heavy Creamer and all. Maybe even consider some chocolate for breakfast. Today I am considering the pro vs. cons of having a nanimo bar for breakfast.
4. You don't have to worry about the expression on your face or how your hair looks or what you are wearing because even your baby can't see you in the dark and the neighbors are busy sleeping in their own homes to care what you look like anyway.
5. You can experience a beautiful calm that is in the middle of the night. The cars that race by in the evening are now put to rest and your street is finally calm. Most of the time, not always around here.
6. You get licence to say things like " I was up at 3am this morning " Always good for a sympathy vote, unless it's a fellow mother who was up even more in which case she deserves your sympathy.
7. When nursing took so long when they are newborns you can watch all sorts of infomercials that cause you to want to buy things that are totally useless like , Dr. Ho's electro-massage therapy/ loses weigh device. We were so sure that it was worth every penny.
8. It allows you time to think about the days that have long passed by with your ity bity newborn and how the time goes by so quickly.
9. Give you the opportunity to morn the days of full night sleep and the lack of appreciation you had for them before you had children, although life with children is totally worth the lack of sleep.
10. You can have the feeling of satisfaction that you have survived another night of waking and that there will at some point be fewer and fewer. One less night wake on your dance card. Kids do eventually stop doing this RIGHT?
Oh ya and the satisfaction of knowing that you are tenderly meeting the needs of your child and showing them love. Giving up of your own desires to help along the one that God gave us as a gift. Way to go MAMA'S your are the best. God appreciates your efforts and makes them beautiful things through His son.
