Flying on drapes, Wild boar and Mobility.

Last weekend Dan, Colby, my brother Dan and Victor went hunting up in Hudson Bay area. The guys were wild boar hunting. Yes, boar hunting. A local farmer let them lose when times were getting tight and now they are wrecking the habitat. So they declares open season on them. Although they ran into every other kind of wildlife no boar. Just boar poop. The neighbor got one though. That's cool. Anyways they were able to kind of check out the other wildlife in anticipation for the deer and elk season this fall. They all have taken up bow hunting, which is ambitious. But they are having fun trying, hopefully they can get something this fall. I was their cook for the weekend and my mother in law was there some of the time cooking too! We had a good time visiting the family and I am looking forward to being there again in august.

Colby seems to be excelling in the mobility department. Although he does not take steps with us he cruises the furniture, hangs from the drapes, climbing the stairs and eats out of the recycling. So he is lots of fun but is tending to hit that head of his lots, poor guy. I guess that's part of the learning curve. He is also well on his way of learning "NO" and sometimes even listening and obeying. So that is nice to see the fruit of your efforts sometimes. Those little babies are so smart.

Me and Colby got to go on a walk in a fancy park in the city with our friends Tomek and Ben. Ben is about Colby's age and Tomek was a co-worker/friend of mine. They loved the swing and playing in the grass. It's nice to spend time with other parents during the daytime when everyone else is at work. Colby loves being with other children. He is a social bug. Although we are working on how we show love, he believes it's though poking their eyes, but I tend to disagree with that. Anyways. I am really enjoying staying at home with Colby and feel very blessed to have a wonderful little boy and a husban how loves us very much.

Wild Boar Hunting, huh? Sounds like fun! haha :) My neighbor used to have boars and he gave us meat from them and it was really good! Anwyays, I met your mother-in-law at Ketchen Lake Bible camp the other week! Jonathan was speaking there...she's super cool. I'm not sure how she recognized us but as SOON as she saw us she said, hey! You know Daniel and Erin, right?! :) She's a good cook. :)

Also...I was thinking about what you said about Colby waking up earlier all the time...have you tried making his room pitch dark? Like with tin foil on the window or something? We did that just recently for our kids and they're sleeping longer...at least 1 hour longer if not more. Every little bit counts though, right? good luck!

That's a great picture of you and Colby! I'm with you on the head-bumping thing - J. bumps her head all the time, although right now her last bruises are fading away. Hudson Bay area looks really beautiful!
