Nostalgic?

Family Day is a wonderful new stat holiday that we enjoy here in Saskatchewan. It was this monday and we got to enjoy a day home with Daniel. It was nice to spend some time with my boy and my man. We had lots of fun with Colby. He is growing so fast. I can't believe how fast the days have gone by. It seems like only days ago we were waiting for his umbilical cord to fall off or for his colic to subside, and now he's nearly 21 pounds and so social with way less stomach issues. Where does the time go? Is there a place where time doesn't pass so quickly? Gone are the days of holding him with one hand, sleeping for hours on end and cute, tiny newborn outfits. Although it seems to early in his life to feel nostalgic it seems like so much has changed. I can't imagine how much more nostalgic one gets over the years. But as Colby is only 4 months, I look forward to many more things to enjoy on the new frontier in the next couple of months, like sitting up alone, first foods, less naps and more independance. Well I have enjoyed the ride so far, along with a steep learning curve and look forward to the road ahead while I look fondly on the days that have passed by. I love my baby boy. :)

Yeah, tell me about it! I can't BELIEVE that I already have a 2 1/2 year old and that Emily is almost 9 months old!!! Seriously...time goes WAY too fast.

Anyways, about the carrier. Yes, the one I'm wearing in that picture you saw is one I'd definitely recommend. It's SOO nice for wearing on your back, and you can put it on the front or hip too if you'd like to. This particular one I'm using is called a Babyhawk Mei Tai. Here's the link to the site where I got mine from: http://www.lastellablu.com/shop.php?useraction=main&c=babyhawk

However, I got mine for free from them, so you could probably find a better deal from a Canadian shop somewhere...probably just try googling "babyhawk mei tai" and "Canada" or something like that. Also, there are lots of different types of Mei Tai's, which you'll probably notice once you start looking at them. Some don't have the higher back, or have wider straps (like this one, for example: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://foxdenlane.com/store/images/Ball-Baby-Mei-Tai.jpg&imgrefurl=http://foxdenlane.com/store/baby-carriers-mei-tai-c-4_12.html&usg=__tHHTkF4kaJAVTCyTLPcw0cNTd7c=&h=250&w=175&sz=36&hl=en&start=58&um=1&tbnid=nGd0LA_KslhU2M:&tbnh=111&tbnw=78&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmei%2Btai%26start%3D54%26ndsp%3D18%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26rls%3Dcom.microsoft:en-us%26sa%3DN ).

Personally, I'd say my favorite that I've tried out (and I've tried several type) is the Babyhawk - simply because it is sewn with a thicker fabric which makes it feel more secure/stronger...and also because it has the higher back, which is great for supporting their necks if they are smaller or if they fall asleep. I LOVE the high back. And if you don't want/need the high back one day, you can just fold it down too and it'll be outta the way. :) Anyways...hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions...as you can probably tell, Babywearing is a BIG love of mine. :)

Oh...and I just have to say that Colby is SOOO cute!
