This is what I am thinking. I have this great baby sling that I have been using for Colby and we love it. It's a sling that is sewn together and has no buckles or ties. You just slip it over your head and use it 6 different ways. It's the type of thing that I would love to give as a gift but they retail at about 50$. So I bought a sewing machine and I am experimenting with sewing them. My question is for those of you who use them or those of you interested, what is your favorite part about them (like feature pocket, padding..ect) and what did you wish they would have? Anyone out there have any other advice I would love to hear it. Thanks and look forward to some responses.

If you are going to be sewing pouch slings, I would suggest first being very accurate with your measuring, as just one size can make a huge difference in the comfort of the sling. I once ordered a Hotsling pouch, and I thought I had measured right. It turned out to be too big, and wouldn't work for me.
I like a small amount of padding for the baby's legs, but not too much. A double layer pouch is also much more sturdy and there is less chance of if ripping, especially when you are using a simple cotton print like the one in your picture. You can use an inexpensive solid color for the lining.
Ring Slings might be a better choice for gifts, since you can use the same ring sling for almost any size of person. It is more fabric to buy though, and the only safe rings I have found have to be ordered from slingrings.com I love sewing ring slings though!
