I was sick over Christmas so that was unfortunate but what can you do, we still had a great time. Visiting, going for walks on the sea wall, shopping and cooking together. Oh and of course Ikea. I love moments like this where we are just together as a family. This is my favorite earthly thing about Christmas.
Life moves so quickly and it's just nice to stop and think about why we are here. Who we are here to Worship. Obviously, Christ who is my #1 Favorite part of Christmas on an eternal scale. Christmas gets so busy doing "things" that sometimes it's hard to make time to focus on the immense gift that has already been given to us. Jesus, born as one of us.
Having a child really has made me contemplate the things that we do to celebrate different occasions. If challenges me to really make sure that these days are celebrated as they are intended and not to become so commercialized. I mean we still exchange gifts and build gingerbread houses but I am trying to find ways to work in more spiritually into the holidays. I don't have it quite figured out, I would appreciate any ideas on traditions that really focus in on the reason we celebrate. Any ideas?
