So just as I think that Colby is going to get better his cold gets worse. He's got a runny nose, fever, loss of appetite, chest cough, and of coarse no one will blame him but he's irritable too. I went to the doctor today in Rostern just to make sure he's ok. They said he's just got a bad cold. We are going in to our regular family doctor tommorow but I am looking for any advice that you might have on colds. I've been breastfeeding him as much as he will take. He also thinks the sippy cup is the greatest thing invented so he's getting lots of water that way. Oh ya to top it off for the poor little guy he's been constipated too from starting food. So it's straight prunes for him. Imagine a couple years down the road writing about your child's bowel movements doesn't go over very well with them. haha. Anyways any helpful advice would be wonderful for my little turkey.
p.s. This picture was taken by Daniel's Mom. I love it. She has a photography business called Creative Perspectives. Check it out at. http://creative-perspectives-photography.blogspot.com/

I hear ya Erin! Jax is sick now too :( He has the exact same symptoms as Colby. And the grouchiness is very wearing, isn't it!? Tonight we bought some Baby Vicks for him and I put it on his chest, back and feet in hopes that he will sleep better tonight. He's been waking up every 2-3 hours. I'll let you know if it helps. I'm also eating a kiwi a day to try and get the vitamin C to him and also to help me not get the cold! (especially since he likes to sneeze in my face and kiss me with his slobbery lips :)
talk to you soon. Maybe I'll call you tomorrow!
ps. that picture is really cute! I clicked on it to see it bigger and I could see his 2 teeth really clear! Very cute.
Is he stuffed up too? You could try steaming him...like make a fort out of chairs and blankets or something and set a pot of boiling water in there and let the steam help clear the congestion out of his lungs. It helps for coughs too. This is what I did when both Tate and Emily were sick with real bad colds this winter. It also helps a LOT if you put a few drops of Eucalyptus oil into the boiling water...really clears up your nose. You can get the oil probably at a health food store...it's super cheap too (or at least it was here!) and lasts forever. I did this with my kids right before bedtime every night and it did help them sleep better at night. Good luck...get better soon Colby!!
