It's hard to believe that it's been about a year and a half since I started at Src. It's usually in retrospect that one sees "How good things are" (Jann Arden) It's also a time to get nostalgic and remember. It's gone by so fast and it has been the best job I've had but probably one of the most interesting job's as well. Just to give you some backround, it is a small lab with no windows, 10 people and white cinder blockwalls. Everyday I came to work and I looked into a bright light in hope of finding diamonds but often just seeing a ton of little rocks. It kind of reminds me or what life would be like if I was on a desert island and lived there with 10 people I never meet before. As time passed I got to know everyone so well. It became much like a family. Full of people that grew into your sisters and brothers. Those people that were strangers I found were good people and they have become my good friends. Each of us so different but together somehow we have grown together and I will truly miss my friends at SRC. I count it a blessing to be part of the diamond lab. Hopefully they will be saving me a spot for when I am done school...

Friends like Janesse, just seem to happen. We sat next to each other for the first half of my SRC career and we had tons of laughs together. Things from Janesse say that she was trying "to kill to 2 stones with one bird" gave me a little window into her extreme hatred towards the bird species Or when we were talking about how my husband uses parsley for a breath freshener. Janesse replied to me in straightest of faces, in all seriousness to prove her point "Yah that is why they use parlsey as a danish." However she did have quite the laugh when I asked if "David Boey was the guy that won canadian idol." Evidently that shows my lack of knowledge in the music industry. But I earned her respect when one day I broke out in what one could only describe as a toilet paper ribbon dance. We had alot of good times going to the gym and shopping for sales at noon hour. Janesse was a joy to work with and great to hang out with. She is going on to finish her nutrition degree and I think she will be so sucessful because she is diciplined and talented.

Kari is the bubbly girl on the left of this photo. Kari and I started at SRC together on the very same day. We have celebrated our anniversary on May 9th of this year. I had the pleasure of sitting next to her for my entire src career less 2 weeks. Kari is the life of the party. She loves to laugh. We had lots of good times together. She likes to play tricks on people when they aren't looking. Like the tape on my microscope or the butterfly in the logbook that scared on of us half to death. The even funnier part was that you always knew she was up to something because she would get the giggles. I am thankful I had the oppurtunity to get to know Kari.
I had an awesome oppurtunity to experience what pregnacy was like through my friend Kristie. We got to watch the baby grow in her belly. It was funny because usually when I was around, the baby would kick. I got to feel the baby kick a number of times. We even got to see the baby the day it was born. It was a special day to see Ryley. She also taught me much about cooking and gardening, We shared the bond that you experience growing up in a small town.
Well I could go one about all the great people I got to know but I will say this Jason, Leah, Adam, Mike and Hongman have alll taught me a thing or two about music, facts, farming, diamonds, and china. Its' been great.
